Inclusion Team

The inclusion team is led by the following team members who work together to support children and their families in order that all children have full access to the curriculum and that barriers to learning are removed:

  • Claire Byron – Vice Principal, Inclusion Manager
  • Felicity Botterill – Head of pupil safety and welfare
  • Jacinta Gordon – SENCO
  • Lisa Blackwood – Assistant SENCO

The inclusion team also consists of a number of members of the team who provide direct, specific interventions and support to children, families and teachers across the academy:

  • Deena Singh – Welfare Officer – EHA, CP support
  • Terri Needs – Welfare Officer – EHA, referrals to EES, attendance support
  • Lois Benta – Counselling and Theraplay interventions
  • Marli Uys – Speech and Language interventions – chatterway and 1:1 speech therapy

All of our Teaching Assistants work across the academy to support teachers and children in classrooms by providing pastoral and learning interventions and by supporting the teachers to meet all of the children’s needs. The interventions they deliver include Social Skills / Emotional Literacy / Anger Management / 1:1 phonics / precision teaching.
